LOS ANGELES — Emerging heavy metal act The Whispering has announced the release of The Whispering – Part 1, a four-track EP offering the first glimpse of the band’s forthcoming self-titled debut album, scheduled for release in fall 2026.
Led by vocalist and guitarist Lucian Fhor, the Los Angeles-based project features an accomplished lineup that includes bassist Loic Colin (Scarve, One-Way Mirror), drummer Tobias Kellgren (Dissection), and acclaimed metal drummer Dirk Verbeuren (Soilwork).
Blending traditional and alternative metal influences, The Whispering aims to deliver a dark, cinematic sound marked by heavy riffs, technical precision, and socially conscious themes. Fhor’s lyrics focus on issues including injustice, oppression, and hypocrisy, positioning the project as both a musical and thematic statement.
The album was recorded throughout 2025 at Besco Recording Studios in France under the direction of producer and manager Dan McConomy. Mixing was completed by Mohammad “Momo” Sadeghin, while mastering was handled by renowned engineer Randy Merrill at Sterling Sound.
Fhor brings extensive live performance experience to the project, having worked with major productions including Cirque du Soleil and performed internationally across North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia.
While Kellgren serves as the band’s touring drummer, Verbeuren performed on the album after scheduling conflicts prevented Kellgren from completing the recording sessions.
The Whispering releases music through its own imprint, LAG Records, with global digital distribution provided by The Orchard. Physical formats and merchandise partnerships are expected to be announced in the coming months.
